Split archive on multipe data carriers |
Split the zip file if it doesn't fit on a single disk |
Encryption |
You can choose between "Standard" and "Strong" Encryption. If you select the standard method you archive is still zip compatible and can be viewed with every zip viewer if you enter the right password. But, this password can be made visible by certain programs available via internet. If you want your data to be much more save then this, you may want to select the "strong" encryption. This way it uses a special algorithm that can not be decrypted as easy as a standard zip password encryption. The drawback is that you also have to decrypt then before you can open it again. You can decrypt a file by going to the "Restore zip archive" window. Use the right-mouse-button menu here to decrypt the file. |
Password |
Define a password for zip encryption. This it not a very strong protection, but it does a good job in most cases. |
Delete old archives |
If you want to avoid running out of disk space when doing daily/weekly/monthly backups, you can decide to delete old backup files after xx days. It only deletes files that match the destination filename of the current group, ignoring the date/version part. You can also decide to only keep the last xxx backup archives. |
